Nyctophobia
Nyctophobia is a horror survival game based off of the characters worst fears that a SCP brings to life in their minds as you explore the various areas to piece together the story and avoid the SCP which feeds off the fear of its victims.
I worked on most of the UI for this game as seen below
This is the main menu of the game
The main menu shown above was completely done by me. The background was of a fellow studio workers wife imitating a scared looked and I edited it to make it more dark and look like the photo was taken in the dark. I also created the buttons for the New Game, Continue, Options, Credits, and Quit buttons which were buttons with an image that changes when hovered to add a blood splatter effect and sound. Below is a gif showing the hover effect.
Options Menu and Audio Menu
Above is the options menu I created showing the Audio settings part of the menu. I created the menu in a widget swithce that allows to switch between the different menu settings for the player to view and change settings. This menu can be used with keyboard and mouse as well as a gamepad. The flashlights change color when hovered as well as the light beam gets wider and longer when higher setting is applied and shorter and skinner when players turn the volumes down. Also did the programming of this UI. Below is a gif to show the effects of them.
Graphics Menu
All images in the graphics menus except the SCP Foundation logo between motion blur and brightness settings were creations of mine. I was also the one to code the functions and buttons on this page to work correctly. Below I display the various hover effects added to this menu.
Credits
The credits are to long to fully display here but they match the overall theme of the game.
Evidence UI
The above menu screen is of the Evidence UI. Through out the game you pick up notes that piece together the story of what happened to the characters in the game. This menu is set so that when the player picks up a note they will be able to go into this menu and re-read the notes they have picked up. The notes are divided up into characters in which they came from. So if the player clicks on the note it will bring up the note again for them to read as shown below.
